Today with very little notice Perth W.A was sent into a 5 day lockdown. I watched as my Facebook feed filled with negative reactions, cursing and memes. School was due to start back tomorrow and parents who were looking forward to seeing their little darlings back into the care of the teachers found themselves with…
In David Attenborough 2021 address he called upon us all to think about ways we can create a positive impact on our planet. “It’s a crucial moment in our history. This could be a year for positive change, for ourselves, for our planet and for the wonderful creatures with which we share it. A year…
As we are all increasing our awareness of our impact not he environment we are becoming more conscious shoppers and looking for alternatives to reduce our waste. One huge waste creator is menstrual pads and tampons. Pads & Tampons make up for around 200,000 tonnes of waste per year and because most of them contain plastic, they take thousands of years to breakdown. Luckily for those that like the traditional period solutions of pads and tampons there are many brands that are now creating environmentally friendly versions. One Australian company doing this is Bamboo Babe, their pads are 100% bamboo, biodegradable and compostable.
Knowing what to eat on Christmas morning can be difficult. I find in my house we try not to eat because we know we're going to have a big lunch but that tends to mean we are starving by the time we arrive at the celebrations and pig out on all the appetisers! We also don't want to get into the habit of eating chocolate and other Christmas sweets on Christmas morning just because it's Christmas. So I went on the hunt to find some healthy options which are going to sustain us until lunch but also feel Christmassy.

Moisturisers are a daily staple in most peoples beauty routines they sit on your skin for long period of time and are designed to absorb into your skin. With this in mind its imperative that we choose moisturisers which contains safe ingredients that don't cause long term health issues.
Anything you put on your skin gets absorbed into your skin. The problem with this is that unlike when you eat something and it makes it way though your digestive system, when it goes on your skin it can enter your bloodstream without filtering. Chemicals we place on our skin can mess with our reproductive systems and hormones so we need to be careful what we use.
So this week my curiosity has peeked when it comes to investigating toxic products in my house. After investigating Baby Wash, Cleaning products I'm not onto Makeup. Makeup is something I wear everyday and products you put on your face absorb into your system. Therefore I was super interested to seeing how the products I…
When it comes to our precious little ones we want to be using the best products but it is extremely difficult to see through all the advertising and ingredients list to pick something that is truly safe on their delicate skin. We also get very conflicting messages, I have heard countless mums tell me how the hospital sent them home with Johnson & Johnson baby soap packs. The very company who is being sued by women who now have cancer after using their talcum powder. I'd be the first to admit that I used the Johnson & Johnson bedtime baby bath with my first until I heard of the lawsuit. I quickly changed brands to one my chemist recommended as a 'good brand', the brand was Aveeno. Advertised as gentle and calming I was none the wise that Aveeno is owned by Johnson and Johnson.
